Records with midnight timestamp sometimes missing when importing from XLS or XLSX data files

Version(s) affected: DataSight 3.6 onwards

Issue: When importing XLS or XLSX data files, records with a midnight timestamp are sometimes missing from the Date Time field in Step 3.  This occurs because Excel has previously applied its own formatting on the date/time field in the data file, and the midnight data record is then not parsed correctly through the DataSight import wizard.  Affected rows will not be imported.

Resolution:

  1. Open your data file in Excel.
  2. Save your data file in a comma delimited CSV file format.  This will remove all formats applied by Excel.
  3. Use the saved CSV file to import your data within DataSight.
