Parallels HTML5 Client User Interface
Once you have logged in to the Parallels HTML5 Client in your web browser, the user interface will be displayed.
The user interface consists of:
- User Account and Search menus located top-right (shown in red);
- DataSight Cloud resources section located in the middle (shown in green); and
- Parallels HTML5 Client Taskbar located at the bottom (shown in blue).

When you launch a DataSight resource, its icon is added to the taskbar at the bottom of the screen. When the taskbar is full, items of the same type are grouped to save space. You can click or tap on a group to see the list of all running instances and to switch to or close a particular instance.
Uploading / Downloading Files
Once you have launched a DataSight resource, the File Transfer menu will appear in the Taskbar as an upwards facing caret located far-right. Files can only be uploaded or downloaded a single file at a time.
Click the caret to display the File Transfer menu options, consisting of:
- Download menu button

- Upload menu button

- Remote Clipboard menu button

To upload a file:
- Click the File Transfer button and click the Upload menu button. An 'Open' file window will be displayed showing the files and folders of your local computer.

In the file 'Open' window:
- Navigate to the file you wish to upload, clicking the file to select it.
- Click the Open button. The file 'Open' windows will close and a 'Save as' window will be displayed showing the files and folders of the DataSight Cloud server.

In the 'Save as' window:
- Navigate to where you would like to save the file on the DataSight Cloud server, and click the Save button.
- Your file has now been uploaded to the DataSight Cloud server.
To download a file:
- Click the File Transfer button and click the Download menu button. An 'Open' file window will be displayed showing the files and folders of the DataSight Cloud server.

In the file 'Open' window:
- Navigate to the file you wish to download, clicking the file to select it.
- Click the Open button. The file 'Open' windows will close and a 'Save as' window will be displayed showing the files and folders of your local computer.

In the 'Save as' window:
- Navigate to where you would like to save the file on your local computer, and click the Save button.
- Your file has now been uploaded to your local computer.
The Remote Clipboard menu button can be used to access any text saved in the DataSight Cloud servers clipboard if required, but this should be accessible using standard cut / copy methods.
To access the Remote Clipboard:
- Click the File Transfer button and then click the Remote Clipboard menu button. A pop-up window will be displayed in the web browser displaying the contents of the clipboard in an editable text box.
- Edit text within the text box as required. Changed are saved automatically when you click anywhere outside the Remote Clipboard pop-up window.
Using drag and drop functionality
Parallels HTML5 Client supports drag and drop functionality when running DataSight on DataSight Cloud. Drag and drop functionality will only allow files to be uploaded to the DataSight Cloud server. Downloads using this method is not available.
Here's how to use drag and drop when working within DataSight:
- Open a web browser and navigate to https://datasight.cloud.
- Log in with your Client Seat Account, DataSight resources are displayed, including the DataSight application icon.
- Double-click to launch DataSight and log in to your database.
- Select a file on your local computer.
- Drag and drop the selected file to the centre of the web browser window. The 'Save as' window will be displayed. The 'This PC' folder shown in the 'Save as' window are located on the DataSight Cloud server and not your local computer.
- Enter a name for the file and save it. The file will be saved on the DataSight Cloud server.
- If you are copying multiple files, a 'Save as' window will be displayed for each file being uploaded.
- You can then import the file into DataSight.
