DataSight Administrator offers two types of security authentication:
-
SQL Server Authentication: SQL Server Authentication authenticates a user to the server using a server user name and password. These are assigned by a Database/IT Administrator. To be authenticated on SQL Server, obtain your user name and password on the server from your Administrator. Keep a personal record.
-
Windows/Active Directory Authentication: This is the recommended authentication mode. It relies on your account being trusted by the operating system (Windows) or local computer to use DataSight Administrator. If you are granted permission to use DataSight Administrator, then to be authenticated on Windows, you do not need a user name or password. If you are logged in to the local computer and cannot access a server on DataSight, please see your IT Administrator for access rights.
