Level Construction Page

While on site, you can capture general information about the site conditions, including a photo.  This data is pushed into a Level Construction entry in DataSight.

 

Capture Site Information

  1. Tap DATE AND TIME to display the calendar dialogue to select the date for the Construction Details record.
  2. Tap FIELD NAME to enter a short description for the photo and/or information being entered.
  3. Tap DESCRIPTION to enter construction data using the on-screen keyboard.
  4. (Optionally) Tap VALUE to enter a value against your FIELD NAME.
  5. (Optionally) Tap TAKE PHOTO.
    1. Tapping TAKE PHOTO will display the selection dialogue you can use to select the source of the photo. Typical sources listed in the selection dialogue will depend upon the operating system.
      1. Camera - capture and upload a photo directly from the camera of the device.
      2. Gallery - select and upload a photo stored on the device.
      3. Other options - depending on the applications installed on your device, and whether you are using the Android or iOS, it may provide other sources for uploading an image, e.g. Microsoft's One Drive or Google Docs.
    2. Tap the appropriate source for the image you would like to select.
    3. Once you have selected the image or taken a photo, DSApp will display the image/photo with a square box. Only the part of the image within the borders of the box will be captured.
      1. Within Android, this image box is resizable.
        1. Re-size the box by tap-and-holding one of the corners and dragging to the required size.
        2. Once you have aligned the box to the section of the image you want captured, tap Crop.
        3. You will be taken back to the CONSTRUCTION DETAILS page and the image is now displayed in the IMAGE section below the TAKE PHOTO
      2. Within iOS, the image can be expanded.
        1. Re-size the image by using two fingers to zoom in to the required size.
        2. Once you have aligned the box to the section of the image you want captured, select the Tick button.
        3. You will be taken back to the CONSTRUCTION DETAILS
        4. In iOS, you will need to tap NEXT and then PREVIOUS to return to Construction Details to see your (updated) IMAGE.
  6. Tap NEXT to save all entered data and proceed to the next page as determined by your DSApp Configuration.

Note

The FIELD NAME and DESCRIPTION fields must both be populated, if entering any data on this page.  Images cannot be submitted without also populating these fields.

Only one Construction Detail record is populated in the DataSight database, per DSI file.

Image sizes are generally set to 150KB, which is a low resolution JPG file.
