DSI Files

DSI Files

When capturing data, DSApp creates a DataSight Input file (DSI; or .dsi) for each Level 3 site.

Once you have finalised a DSI file, it can then be sent to your nominated FTP Server ready for automated or manual input into DataSight as required.

DSI files are stored on the device until connected to the internet for data communications.

Dsi Files are viewed in DSApp in the FILE MANAGER.

The file size of each DSI will be between 100-300 KB.  Larger sizes can be anticipated depending upon images included in CONSTRUCTION DETAILS.

The FILE NAME of a .DSI file is composed of, in the following order:

  • the date the file was created and expressed as YYYYMMDD (where YYYY is the year, MM is the month and DD is the day),
  • the time the file was created expressed as HHMM (where HH is the hours and MM is the minutes),
  • the filename of the DSApp Report (excluding its extension),
  • an underscore, and then finally,
  • the name of the Level 3 (site) to which the data relates.

When your device is connected to the internet, you can initiate the upload of your file(s) to your FTP Server.  DSI Files, once sent to your FTP server, will be available there as required.

Note
