Collection Basics

Collection Basics

You can use DSApp on your device to electronically collect field data.

It is advisable to refresh your DSApp Report file prior to leaving for the field (see Use a Configuration).

If the device is connected to the internet via Wi-Fi or GPRS network, data can be sent while in the field.  Data charges may then apply.

To collect data you will undertake the following:

Collect Data

  1. From the Home page, firstly ensure that you have the desired configuration selected.
    1. (Optional) Change your configuration if required.
  2. Note the name and last update of the linked DSApp Report.
    1. (Optional) Tap the Update button to refresh the selected file stored on the device.
  3. Then, select your MDE Template.

MDE templates, saved within the DSApp Report generated by your database, are used to dynamically push Level and Variable lists to DSApp.

The DSApp Variable Data entry page will display the Levels and Variables from the selected MDE template.

You are able to change your MDE Template while in the field, offline, if sites or monitoring regime requires.
